The University of Mary Washington Foundation said Thursday that Cardinal Bank has agreed to finance a $13 million, 100-room hotel in the second phase of Eagle Village, a mixed-use development across from the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg.

UMW to Induct 5 into Athletic Hall of Fame; http://fredericksburg.patch.com

The University of Mary Washington Athletic Hall of Fame will induct five members as its 16th class on Friday, October 21, 2011. The class includes long-time men’s soccer and men’s tennis coach Roy Gordon, six-time track and field All-American Yurissa Mitchell ’00, three-time tennis All-American Lea Schon ’01, two-sport All-American Stefanie Teter ’96, and baseball All-American Jin Wong ’97.
