Support Causes You Care About Through the Commonwealth of Virginia Campaign

The University of Mary Washington is proud to participate once again in the Commonwealth of Virginia Campaign (CVC)—now through December 31, 2025.

The CVC provides all state employees with the opportunity to make charitable contributions, either as one-time gifts or via payroll deduction, to hundreds of approved organizations—including UMW! Whether you choose to support UMW or another cause close to your heart, your generosity makes a difference across our communities.

And don’t forget—Giving Tuesday is December 2! Gifts made to UMW on Giving Tuesday will also count toward this year’s CVC totals, so it’s a perfect time to show your Mary Wash spirit while supporting students and programs across campus.

Deadline Extended! Apply for an Impact Grant by Feb. 14

We are pleased to announce that the deadline to apply for the Fund for Mary Washington Impact Grants program has been extended to February 14, 2025! Now in its second year, this donor-funded grant program offers awards ranging from $500 to $5,000 for initiatives led by University-recognized student organizations, faculty, and staff. These grants support projects taking place between May 2025 and May 2026.

EAGLEfunding: Supporting Student Passions

Did you know there are over 150 student-led clubs on campus? Embodying the spirit of UMW, these diverse groups ignite passion, cultivate leadership, and foster a strong sense of community.

Throughout the month of October, 42 of these clubs signed up to participate in EAGLEfunding to raise funds that make their projects and programs possible. From service and civic engagement to academics, arts, sports, identity groups, and hobbies – there is something for everyone at Mary Washington.

Will you help power students’ passions by making a gift to one or more of the clubs participating in EAGLEfunding this year? Visit fund.umw.edu/g/eaglefunding to see who’s participating this year.

The club with the highest number of unique donors will receive $1,000 from an anonymous alumna! The club with the second-highest unique donor count will receive $500, and the third-highest will receive $250.

 

Fund for Mary Washington Impact Grant Applications Open Through March 29

The Office of Advancement and Alumni Engagement is excited to announce the Fund for Mary Washington Impact Grants. Through this pilot program, donor-funded grants of $500 to $5,000 will be awarded to support projects and initiatives that advance programs, lead to professional/academic growth, and/or exemplify the University’s ASPIRE values.

Applications may be submitted through March 29 by faculty, staff, and students representing a university-recognized club or organization through the form alumni.umw.edu/ImpactGrants, where you will also find funding criteria and answers to frequently-asked questions.
