Standing Up Against Sexism

Ask Chris Kilmartin what his ideal stage would be, and he may divulge a secret wish to appear on “The Daily Show” trading barbs with political funny guy Jon Stewart. Still, Kilmartin, a part-time stand-up comedian and full-time University of Mary Washington psychology professor, says he is just as happy making an impact in the classroom and on the national stage—shattering stereotypes about gender psychology and bringing attention to the serious issue of sexual violence.

It is that time of year again – the UMW Day of Silence is Friday, April 20.  If your department didn’t donate, you can still get a shirt!

Professor of Psychology Chris Kilmartin will discuss attitudes toward gender in the sports environment during an interview airing on the “With Good Reason” public radio program beginning Saturday, July 9.

The interview can be heard on July 9 at 4:30 p.m. on WCVE 88.9 FM and on Monday, July 11 at 12:30 a.m. on WAMU 88.5 FM.
