Department of Mathematics Lecturer Keith Nabb served as a keynote speaker at Southwestern Michigan College’s annual Michigan Mathematical Association of Two-Year Colleges Conference, where educators gathered to connect with peers and explore emerging trends in mathematics. More than 50 mathematicians attended the event, which featured discussions on the benefits of activity-based learning and the impact of artificial intelligence on math education.
The keynote speakers discussed the benefits of active learning, when students participate in the learning process through activities rather than listening to lectures, and how to handle AI in math education. Participants engaged in collaborative workshops, solving equations and sharing ideas about the evolving landscape of mathematics instruction. Read more.
