Stephen Farnsworth, professor of political science and director of the Center for Leadership and Media Studies, is featured in the Thursday, Jan. 5 issue of The Washington Times. In the article, “McDonnell Nets Record Haul for GOP Governors,” Farnsworth discusses the rivalry between Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell and Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley.
On Friday, Jan. 6, Farnsworth appeared on CTV News to discuss the Republican candidates’ preparations for the New Hampshire primary.
Associate Professor of Political Science and International Affairs Jason W. Davidson’s chapter, “Italy at War: Explaining the Italian Contribution to the Kosovo War (1999),” was recently published by Lexington Books in a volume edited by Giampiero Giacomello and Bertjan Verbeek titled Italy’s Foreign Policy in the Twenty-First Century.
Ranjit Singh, associate professor of political science, will reflect on his experience with Bahrain’s royal family in relation to last year’s uprising in the Middle East during an interview on the “With Good Reason” public radio program beginning Saturday, January 7.

Emile Lester, assistant professor of political science, has an article in the December issue of Kappan. In the article, “Teaching for Religious Tolerance in Modesto: Just Enough, But Not Too Much,” Lester argues that the Modesto school district’s required world religions course should be a model for schools across the country.
In addition, Lester’s research on religion in public schools is the focus of the article “Teaching Religious Literacy in California’s Bible Belt” in a recent issue of Miller-McCune.
