The University of Mary Washington has entered into a new partnership with the Virginia Department of Veterans Services (VDVS) to help provide laptop computers at no cost to eligible student veterans and military spouses.
Through the Virginia Veteran Laptop Program (VVLP), veterans and military spouses currently enrolled and taking classes at UMW may receive a laptop to support their academic success. Initially piloted at Virginia’s community colleges, the program has now expanded to select four-year institutions, including UMW.
Building on the success of the Military Student Technology Initiative, the VVLP was established through a partnership among the Veterans Services Foundation, Tech for Troops, and the Military Education and Workforce Initiative. The program is open to all veterans and military spouses, regardless of discharge status.
