Best-selling author named associate director of UMW’s Great Lives lecture series; http://blogs.fredericksburg.com

The University of Mary Washington today announced that Charles J. Shields has been named associate director of the university’s Great Lives public lecture series.

  1. Is this the same Charles J. Shields that wrote Mockingbird? That is exciting news! I have been a member of Charles J. Shields book clubs for years. Harper Lee, To Kill a Mockingbird is one of my favorite books without a doubt. Congradulatins for getting such a well rounded tactful intelligent director. The University will not regret this descision. Congraduations to Charles J. Shields.

  2. Wow. This is really great news for the university. I have a family friend that is a Shields fanatic that is taking classes at UMW this coming semester… he will be delighted to hear this news (but probably already has).
