Through the end of April, we’ll have extra landscape and grounds work on campus, including pressure washing several areas. This regular spring cleaning helps to remove pollen and debris from our high traffic areas. The pressure washing will not block pathways, but please be aware of it as you exit buildings.
Please note the following schedule:
- April 14 Anderson Center (North wall and sidewalk across from the pedestrian bridge only)
- April 16 Campus Walk and around James Farmer Hall
- April 17 Virginia Hall entry (fountain side) and George Washington Hall steps (Campus Walk side)
- April 21 James Farmer Hall (bust, patio knee walls each side of front steps)
- April 22-25 Simpson/HCC/Woodard Arcade
- April 28 Bell Tower
In addition, tree work will be happening through April 28, including large branch removal on each end of campus around Route 1 and William St. Lane closures may be needed with traffic control measures in place, so please look for these changes during your commute. Pruning of the holly trees at Double Drive will take place April 21-23, with overnight and early morning parking closures in that area.
If you have questions about this work, please contact Director of Landscape and Grounds Holly Chichester-Morby at hchiches@umw.edu.
