Mindy J. Erchull, assistant professor of psychology at the University of Mary Washington, will receive the 2010 Mary Roth Walsh Teaching the Psychology of Women Award at the American Psychological Association Convention in San Diego, Calif., on August 14.
Princeton Review Rates UMW Among Nation’s Best
The University of Mary Washington has been named to the Princeton Review’s 2011 edition of "The Best 373 Colleges." The Princeton Review is a New York City-based education services company that annually publishes guidebooks ranking colleges, business and law schools.

UMW Board of Visitors Names Rector
The University of Mary Washington Board of Visitors has named Daniel K. Steen as rector for the 12-member board and the Honorable Pamela J. White as vice rector. Steen, who succeeds Nanalou Sauder as rector, and White will serve two-year terms in those positions. Patricia Revere will serve her second term as the board’s secretary.

Governor Announces Appointments to UMW Board
The Virginia Governor’s Office has announced the appointments of Holly T. Cuellar of Virginia Beach and Joseph R. Wilson of Fredericksburg to the Board of Visitors at the University of Mary Washington. The governor’s office also has reappointed Xavier R. Richardson to a second term on the university board.
UMW SBDC and Director Recognized
Brian J. Baker, executive director of the University of Mary Washington Small Business Development Center (SBDC), has been awarded the 2010 Virginia Small Business Development Centers State Star Award.
In addition, the UMW SBDC has received full reaccreditation by the Association of Small Business Development Centers, the national accrediting body for SBDCs under contract with the U.S. Small Business Administration.
