Congratulations to Jason Harrington, network analyst expert in Network and Communications Services, who has been selected as an Excellent Eagle Employee by the Staff Advisory Council. To thank him for such a wonderful job, Jason will have a reserved parking spot of his choosing from Tuesday, January 3 through Tuesday, January 31.
Here is what one of Jason’s co-workers said about him:
“Jason received his CCNA, or Cisco Certified Network Associate Certification in September 2011. Typically, only 40 percent of test takers pass the CCNA on the first attempt. Jason did. He continues to excel in his role here at UMW. He is currently completing configuration of the router, switches, packet shaper, firewall, DNS/DHCP Appliance and Voice Over IP equipment for the Dahlgren Campus. Professional services to configure these devices would be a major expense. Jason’s excellence has saved us money and put us well ahead of schedule.”
To nominate someone who you believe is an Excellent Eagle Employee, just send an email to Dre Anthes (aanthes@umw.edu) with Excellent Eagle Employee in the Subject Line. In your email, be sure to include the person’s name, department, work location (with the most convenient parking lot), and of course, the reason why you believe they should be recognized. Please spread the word to other employees about this wonderful opportunity to recognize a co-worker(s).

The series begins Tuesday, January 24, with a lecture on Kurt Vonnegut by Charles J. Shields, associate director of the Great Lives Series. Shields is the author of the recently released “And So It Goes: Kurt Vonnegut, A Life,” the first full-length biography of Vonnegut. The book has been nominated for a Pulitzer Prize. Shields also is the author of “Mockingbird: A Portrait of Harper Lee,” the bestselling biography of the author of “To Kill a Mockingbird.”
