On Saturday, August 17, 10 of Fredericksburg’s talented executives and leaders will perform in a ballroom dance-style competition at UMW. Based on the hit television show “Dancing With the Stars,” Dancing with the Fredericksburg Stars will feature Bill Young, CEO of Virginia Partners Bank; Fred Rankin, president and CEO of Mary Washington Healthcare; Ellen Killough, president and CEO of the Fredericksburg Area Museum and Cultural Center; Richard V. Hurley, president of UMW; Mary Katherine Greenlaw, mayor of the City of Fredericksburg; Susan Spears, president of the Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce; Caressa Cameron-Jackson, Miss America 2010; Deirdre White, president and CEO of DPW Training & Associates, LLC; Marty Bass, retired attorney and judge; and Rich McDaniel, senior vice president of CB Richard Ellis, Inc.
The performance will begin at 7 p.m. in George Washington Hall’s Dodd Auditorium and will be followed by Champagne Under the Stars at 9 p.m.
Tickets go on sale Monday, April 15. Proceeds will endow performing arts scholarships for regional UMW students. Professional partners accompanying the Fredericksburg Stars are from Strictly Ballroom Dance Studio in Fredericksburg.
