The University of Mary Washington Board of Visitors has named Daniel K. Steen as rector for the 12-member board and the Honorable Pamela J. White as vice rector. Steen, who succeeds Nanalou Sauder as rector, and White will serve two-year terms in those positions. Patricia Revere will serve her second term as the board’s secretary.

The Virginia Governor’s Office has announced the appointments of Holly T. Cuellar of Virginia Beach and Joseph R. Brian J. Baker, executive director of the University of Mary Washington Small Business Development Center (SBDC), has been awarded the 2010 Virginia Small Business Development Centers State Star Award.
In addition, the UMW SBDC has received full reaccreditation by the Association of Small Business Development Centers, the national accrediting body for SBDCs under contract with the U.S. Small Business Administration.
