UMW Bookstore Changes Coming this May 2026.
A Book Company, LLC, which operates as eCampus.com, has been selected as the new UMW bookstore contractor, set to begin operations this summer 2026. This award follows a request for proposals that garnered several national vendors with expertise in online spirit shops and brick-and-mortar stores.
During the transition, the on-campus store will close briefly from May 10 – May 26, 2026 for updates and will re-open as a spirit shop and hub for UMW gear and supplies. A refreshed collection of UMW merchandise in a variety of designs, styles and price points will be available in the on-site and online campus stores.
Summer course materials will be available for students to purchase through the eCampus online store on or before May 10, 2026. With this transition, textbooks and course materials will only be available to order online with several delivery options, including two-day free shipping to the on-campus store.
Faculty will continue enter course material adoptions via Barnes & Noble’s Adoption & Insights Portal for Summer and Fall 2026 through May 9, 2026. After May 9, fall course material adoptions will be emailed to an eCampus course materials specialist (with further details to follow).
Mark your calendars now for the first opportunity for brand-new Mary Wash merchandise, and look for additional updates specific to your areas as we roll out key functions and online options.
Thank you to the many committee members who joined in the thoughtful, months-long review process for this campus retail solution.
If you have questions about the bookstore transition, please contact Director of Business Services Kathy Sandor at kunderwo@umw.edu.
As part of the University’s ongoing commitment to creating accessible and inclusive online spaces, Creative Services is pleased to offer an updated electronic letterhead format that meets WCAG accessibility standards. This resource is available to all departments and units that use electronic letterhead for correspondence.

As you advise your students on their course choices in the Summer and Fall, please keep in mind the Modern Languages and Literatures course: “The World on a Plate: A Journey Through Global Cuisines.”
Based out of Washington, DC, Carly Harvey combines Blues, Jazz, Soul, and Indigenous American styles to produce a unique sound. She is the originator of the “Native Scat” — an improvisational fusion of a traditional Jazz scat with Native vocables. In addition to performing as a solo act, Carly is an entertaining and dynamic band leader.
According to DC Music Review, “Carly is grace, confidence, originality, and the right amount of sexy swagger all at once. She commands the stage with her voice and presence and draws you in intensely. Then she seems to end each song with an infectious smile of pure gratitude that beams so brightly into the audience.
