VIRGINIA STATE EMPLOYEES HELPING FELLOW EMPLOYEES IN NEED
How It Works
The Virginia State Employee Emergency Fund (VSEEF) has been created for Virginia State employees who are active and in need as a result of a recent unforeseen emergency (e.g., fire to one’s home, death of a loved one, or medical bills from an unexpected illness or injury not covered by insurance). The VSEEF is a recognized charity of the Commonwealth of Virginia Campaign (CVC). Funds are made through short-term grants payable to companies, not individuals. To view more information about the VSEEF, visit www.cvc.virginia.gov/veaf/vseefFAQs.htm. State employees who qualify for this fund should download the online application, obtain the appropriate signatures and documentation, and submit their application through fax or mail. Once applications are received, a committee of state employees reviews the request in a confidential manner. All applicants are notified within seven business days of the status of their application.
How to Support
The Virginia State Employee Emergency Fund is made possible solely by donations
designated during the CVC campaign. In order to make a contribution to this fund,
employees can donate online or fill out a pledge card to CVC code #3040. During the CVC
campaign, online donations can be made through Employee Direct by clicking on:
https://edirect.virginia.gov/EDL/Start.
How to Apply
Visit www.cvc.virginia.gov to download the application, or to view more information about
the VSEEF, click on the EMERGENCY FUND link. Completed applications should be faxed
to 804/371-7401 or mailed to VSEEF c/o CVC, 101 North 14th Street, 12th Floor, Richmond, VA
23219. The VSEEF is a program within the Virginia Employee Assistance Fund and registered
as an IRS 501 (c) 3 charity and sponsored by the Commonwealth of Virginia Campaign.
VSEEF financial statements are available upon request from the Office of Consumer Affairs.

Dear Colleagues,

This information must be correct for the University’s year-end Employer Reporting, your W-2 statements, and the commonwealth’s Affordable Care Act reporting. Errors may result in federal penalties for the University.
Review your name and address by logging into Payline and selecting “Pay History” to review the address and name on your pay stub or log into EmployeeDirect and click on “My Employment Profile” then “Personal”.
If an update is needed, please make the update in Payline by completing the following steps:
- Click “Employee Profile”,
- Click “Request Profile Change”
- Enter the changes needed
- Then select “Accept” at the bottom of the screen
- Log out
If you are unable to complete the update in Payline please forward your change of address to Debra Wander at dwander@umw.edu .
If your name has changed and is no longer correct, please contact Denise Frye at dfrye2r@umw.edu. The HR and Payroll systems must reflect the legal name as shown on your social security card.
Again, please enter or submit all updates on or before Monday, December 14th.

Travel Reminder – Preferred Seating on Airlines
Reminder that the Commonwealth allows only economy or coach seating. Recently, airlines have created a higher level of coach class that charges a premium for certain seats. Additional charges for these upgrades, such as preferred seating, will not be reimbursed and are not allowed on the SPCC. If the only seats left on the flight are offered for an additional fee, opt out of choosing a seat and complete the purchase of the coach/economy ticket without a seat assignment. A seat will be assigned to you at the airport. (Exceptions for flights other than coach/economy are found at http://adminfinance.umw.edu/ap/travel/air-and-rail-transportation/.)
Please contact Laura Temple in Accounts Payable at ltemple@umw.edu or
(540) 654-1224 with any travel-related questions.
Sincerely,
Allyson Moerman

University Relations Seeks Feedback
The following message is from the Office of University Relations:
The UMW University Relations office handles marketing, creative services (design and editorial), the web, media relations, social media and the alumni magazine. We are eager to partner with offices and individuals across campus. We need a barometer of how we’re doing – in what ways do we shine and in what areas could we improve? This survey is an internal assessment tool intended to determine the quality of service and the effectiveness of messaging and materials produced during the 2014-2015 academic year. With the ultimate goal of continuous improvement, University Relations will include the results of this survey in the department’s annual institutional effectiveness report. The feedback will also be used in unit planning for the next academic year. Please take a few moments to complete the survey at the link below; your feedback is invaluable to us.
