Grand Opening

Barnes & Noble and University of Mary Washington invite you to celebrate the grand opening of the campus bookstore! On October 3, 2019, from 12-2 PM, join us in a variety of activities and chances to win prizes, and welcome bookstore manager Cameisha Chin. There will be:

  • A scavenger hunt
  • Prize drawings every half hour
  • Learning stations for textbook ordering through Faculty Enlight

Copy Center

Special Orders

Have a job that seems outside the scope of what the Copy Center can offer? Contact us to find out how we can help. The Copy Center partners with local companies for jobs that cannot be done in-house. We also work with them to ensure that customers are getting the lowest prices available.


EagleOne

New Credit Card Readers

Have you noticed the new payment readers on Pepsi beverage vending machines?  The machines now accept credit, debit, and mobile payments!  The readers do not currently accept EagleOne, but that functionality will soon be restored. Keep an eye out for this decal, which will be placed on machines when all payment options are working.

New Vending Items

Campus vending machines are stocked on a regular basis. Whether its new favorites like Zapp’s Voodo chips, or classics like Fritos, there is something for everyone. Visit the nearest vending machine to see the most recent selection of treats.


Parking Management

Parking Reservation Calendar

Occasionally, certain lots are reserved for special events or visitors. Parking Management maintains a calendar of scheduled lot reservations where five (5) or more spaces have been reserved. Visit the page here.

Please note that even when lots are reserved, accessible parking spaces remain available to any vehicles with DMV-issued accessible placards or license plates. UMW Campus Police are also available to provide an escort if needed; more information is found here.

Post Office

Amazon Couriers

Amazon packages are being delivered to the UMW community via Amazon Couriers. Amazon Couriers are to deliver all student mail (addressed to 1701 College Ave) to the Campus Post Office, and all Faculty and Staff mail (addressed to 1301 College Ave) directly to the addressee on the package. If an Amazon Courier attempts to deliver a package that is addressed to someone outside of your department, please direct them to the Campus Post Office in Woodard Hall for assistance. The Post Office can also be reached at 654-1049 if you need further assistance.

Meet our New Employees

Rachel McDonald joins the Procurement Services Department as a Customer Service Advocate (CSA), and
James DeLoatch as a new Procurement Buyer, James will alternate work locations between Central Procurement in Eagle Village, and the Central Storeroom.

Welcome Rachel and James!
With several staff vacancies now filled, UMW Procurement Services will resume a CRM plan to align a designated Buyer with particular high spend volume departments. Departments can expect outreach from the Procurement Office over the next several weeks.

New Office Supply contract…Coming Soon
UMW will participate in a strategically sourced office supply contract established by the University of Virginia, for use by other entities.
The contract is structured to offer a lower overall price for office supply products,  leverage total spend of all entities, and offer a rebate in conjunction with increasing spend amounts.
Contract Vendor:  The Supply Room Companies (TSRC)
A UMW custom punchout catalog is now in test mode. More to Follow !

The following items were added to the Standard Technology Request form:
– Apple Magic Trackpad
– Logitech Wireless Mouse
– Apple Thunderbolt Display
The following items were added to the BYO form:
– Non Apple branded iPad and Tablet Cases/Sleeves/Covers
– Non Apple branded cables including but not limited to HDMI, Ethernet, DVI, VGA, etc.
*ANY Apple branded products including Smart Cases and Apple cables still have to go through one of the form processes.
If invoices or receipts are needed from the following companies – Dell, Apple, CDWG – contact Michelle Miller at mmiller8@umw.edu with the PCO# to have them retrieved and forwarded to you.

Thanksgiving Deadline: Ensure that all transactions are signed off by Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2014.
Transactions not signed off will be swept on Nov. 20.
Holiday Break Deadline: Ensure that all transactions are signed off by Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2014.
Transactions not signed off will be swept on Dec. 18.

Since our last eUpdate, the Procurement Services Department has received state-wide recognition for increasing efforts toward supplier diversity, and UMW was awarded Tier II operating authority in the areas of IT and Procurement.

Initial changes: 

1) The SPCC 5 day rule no longer applies.

2) The purchase of writing implements is no longer exclusive to VIB.

All other regulations are in place at this time.

SUPPLIER DIVERSITY PACESETTER AWARD

On Oct. 28, 2013, UMW Procurement Services received the Supplier Diversity Pacesetter award during the Governor’s 2013 Supplier Diversity Awards Program. The award was presented by Ms. Ida McPherson, Director of the Department of Minority Business Enterprise, in conjunction with the Commonwealth of Virginia Procurement Forum.

TIER II STATUS

On Oct. 29, UMW was approved for Tier II operating authority in the functional areas of Information Technology and Procurement (excluding real property or construction). In the letter from Richard Brown, secretary of finance, granting that authority, Brown stated, “This is a solid achievement and reflects the continuing hard work and expertise of the staff at the University of Mary Washington.”

UMW is transitioning to new rules and regulations associated with Tier II. Additional information will follow as the transition unfolds.

PARKING ADVISORY: WINTER PARKING LOCATIONS

Due to the possibility of inclement weather during campus break, ALL vehicles that will be left unattended/overnight on campus during the Winter Break should be parked in Sunken Road lots #11 and #13, and the William Street lot.

In the event of a Snow Emergency Declaration, all other lots/areas will need to be clear of vehicles, this includes Fac/Staff vehicles and any UMW assigned Service/Pool Vehicles for all departments. Please move these vehicles to the above mentioned areas, or the Physical Plant, and follow any other instructions.
