Larus Participates in Workshop on Taiwan Election
Elizabeth Larus, professor of political science and international affairs, delivered comments on the key drivers of Taiwan’s 2016 elections to U.S. Department of State foreign service officers and government analysts at the Summer Working Group “2016 and Beyond: Impact of Taiwan’s Presidential and Legislative Elections on Taiwan, Cross-Strait Relations, and US-Taiwan Relations,” in McLean, Va. on Sept. 18.
Larus Presents Paper at APSA
Elizabeth Larus, professor of political science and international affairs presented a paper, “US Rebalance to Asia and China-US Relations,” at the annual meeting of the American Political Science Association in San Francisco in early September. Dr. Larus, a Taiwan Fellow, was the guest of honor at a dinner hosted by the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in San Francisco (Taiwan consulate).
Larus Presents Paper at Asia Conference
Elizabeth Larus, Taiwan Fellow and Professor Political Science and International Affairs presented a paper, “Assessing the US Rebalance to Asia: Implications for US-China-Taiwan Trilateral Relations and Taiwan’s Strategic Choices,” at the 2015 AAS-in-Asia conference, Academia Sinica, Taipei, Taiwan in June. She also participated in the international conference Maritime Governance in the 21st Century at National Chengchi University in Taipei in late June.

Dr. Larus was an invited guest of the library’s Center for Chinese Studies.
Larus Publishes Article on Taiwan Elections
Elizabeth Larus, Taiwan Fellow and Professor of Political Science and International Affairs, published an article, “Relations with Taiwan after the Nine-In-One Elections,” in China Analysis, a publication of the European Council on Foreign Affairs.
The article examines China’s view of the impact of the elections on cross-Strait relations.
