Jepson Science Center construction update
The following message is from Facilities Services:
Between Monday, July 9, and Wednesday, July 11, 2018, Virginia Steel Erectors will be removing the crane from the Jepson project site. This work will create increased traffic volume in the Anderson Center parking lot as several flatbed trailers will remove pieces of the crane. Traffic impact to College Avenue is expected to be minimal as the trailers depart to Route 1.
If you have questions, please contact UMW Project Manager Les Johnson at 540-654-2100.
Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability
UMW seeks to reflect diversity of abilities in our faculty and staff. Please take a minute to answer ONE question telling us if you have or ever had a disability. Completing this form is VOLUNTARY, but we hope that you will choose to fill it out. By law, your answer will not be used against you in any way.
Because a person may become disabled at any time, we are required by the federal government to ask all of our employees to update their information every five years, and are encouraged to gather this information more often. You may voluntarily self-identify as having a disability on this form without fear of any punishment because you did not identify as having a disability earlier.
Thank you for taking a moment to complete your information.
We strive for all members of our community to have equitable access to opportunities for participation and the resources for success. If you have any questions or concerns about disability related workplace issues please contact the AAEEO Officer at sjohnson@umw.edu or call the Office of Human Resources at 540 654-1214. Information about workplace accommodations is available for your review.

Construction Activity – Jepson Science Center
The following message is from Facilities Services:
Beginning at 3:30 a.m., Friday, June 29, significant construction activity will take place in and around the Jepson Science Center, affecting traffic along College Avenue and access to the parking lot between Simpson Library and duPont Hall.
Donley’s construction company will place more than 200 cubic yards of concrete for the third floor addition, which is expected to take most of the day. Concrete trucks will be traveling on College Avenue, the Anderson Center parking lot, and the north Jepson access road. Please obey flagger directions.
That same day, the south access road to the parking lot behind Simpson will be paved. This work will close one lane at a time, with the intent of paving both travel lanes that day. Please be aware of and obey directions from the flaggers. The paving is a weather dependent activity.
