Celebrate Seacobeck Dinner

Campus Dining is launching our “Celebrate Seacobeck” dinner series on Wednesday, September 24 at 5:30 p.m. at Seacobeck.   Following a few opening remarks by President Hurley, everyone will enjoy a menu and music reminiscent of the 1930s as we commemorate Seacobeck’s first decade as a resident dining hall. Photo displays of Seacobeck from the early years will also be on display in the Dome Room.

The cost of dinner for faculty and staff is $5 and doors will open at 5 p.m. All dining rooms will be open (and all tables set with white linens!), but seating in the Smart Market will be by reservation only. To make a reservation please contact Rose Benedict at (540) 654-2169 or rbenedic@umw.edu by September 22.

Every month Campus Dining will host a “Celebrate Seacobeck” dining event featuring the cuisine and music of each of Seacobeck’s eight decades. Watch for our 1940s swing time dinner coming in October!

Seaco turns 84. Let’s party!

When the new campus center opens next summer, Seacobeck Hall will close as a campus dining facility. But we can’t let dear ‘ole Seaco go without a festive send-off. Throughout the upcoming academic year, Campus Dining will host a series of monthly special dining events to commemorate Seacobeck and the role it has played in campus life for eight decades.

Please join us at 5:30 p.m. on September 24 as we kick-off “Celebrate Seacobeck” in the Smart Market Dining Room. After a brief launch ceremony, guests will enjoy a dinner party highlighting the food, music, and events of the 1930s. The cost of this special dinner is only $5 for all UMW faculty and staff, or one meal swipe for students.

If you wish your donation to be tax deductible, you may make your donation by check, made payable to the Sodexo Foundation. Help us plaster the walls with hearts and feed lots of children! Donation boxes are at campus dining cashiers. For more information contact Rose Benedict at rbenedic@umw.edu.
